I love a good scrapbook – this one was especially fun to make because it included fabric swatches! The scrapbook includes pictures of my sister and I in the clothing my mom made us as kids. When I could I included the fabric swatch with the picture – the same swatches that can be found in the quilt. It was really fun to flip through this book after giving them the quilts. We had a lot of fun reminiscing and at times laughing at our matching outfits. My sister and I are just a year apart so most of the clothes my mom made us were either matching or coordinating!
For the scrapbook I bought a lavender pre-made album, and then using scrapbook paper, I created pages for each outfit. I matted my photos with colored paper and pinked my swatches before attaching them to manilla cards.
Both the scrapbook and the quilt were a lot of fun to make. It’s amazing how many memories can be tied to one piece of fabric. I can’t wait to start making clothes for my kiddos. Now that I have a little girl, I am especially excited to use some of the girly fabric my mom has leftover from when we were kids. :)
