Good morning and Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend! I’m excited it’s 2016! Looking back, 2015 was a wonderful year, the highlight was the birth of my daughter in February. She turned 11 months yesterday and I can’t believe we are now so close to her first birthday! Time really flies. It’s crazy. With birthdays on my mind, I thought I’d share a birthday banner tutorial and free printable with you today!
I made this birthday banner a couple years ago and continue to use it over and over! I created it to match our blue placemats and our white-and-blue dishes with the intention of using it anytime we hosted a birthday dinner. It is such a nice touch and makes the birthday person feel a little extra special. I keep it in our wine tower and can quickly and easily hang it up across our dining room windows. Below is the tutorial and free printable!
- Free printable birthday banner!
- White card stock (I use 110 lb bright white)
- Scissors and/or paper cutter
- Hole punch
- Yarn or ribbon
STEP 1: Print the free printable birthday banner onto white card stock.
STEP 2: Cut out each banner piece. I used a paper cutter for most of it and then a scissors to cut out the triangle at the bottom.
STEP 3: Punch holes in the top corners of each banner piece.
STEP 4: Tie the banner pieces together! I used purple yarn but you could use ribbon, yarn, or twine! Leave long pieces of ribbon at each end of the banner.
STEP 5: Add glitter to the little cupcakes! I did this after I tied the banner together, but it could be done before. I added gold glitter to the flame and pink glitter to the pink sprinkles! The banner is all finished!
Birthdays are the best and this cute little banner is great to keep on hand and whip out for any birthday celebration! A little handmade touch to make your birthday guest of honor feel extra special :)
