Good morning! If you have been following along you have probably heard me talking about our joint Baptism/Birthday party coming up this month to celebrate Bugaboo’s 2nd birthday and Jellybean’s Baptism! We were originally going to have Bugaboo’s 2nd birthday party in March when his birthday is but decided to move it to June so it could be combined with the baptism party – less travel for our out of town relatives and we can have it outside and enjoy the wonderful weather (fingers crossed!).
To get ready for the baptism I had a few clothing alterations to make. I made Bugaboo’s Baptism gown when he was born, and had put some blue ribbon on the sleeves to make it a bit more “boyish” for him. I had always planned to sub the blue ribbon out for pink ribbon should we have a girl, but once I got the gown out to work on it I decided I should really just go with a nuetral ribbon that can stay put! I hope to pass the gown on and it would be much easier for future family members to not have to worry about replacing sleeve ribbon! I mean what if they don’t sew!
I found a lace ribbon in my ribbon stash that matched the cream color of the gown perfectly! I think I like the gown even more with this new ribbon!
After the ceremony I have a little romper for Jellybean to change into. This vintage yellow romper is mine from when I was a baby. I love the pleating, lace, and embroidery on the front as well as the sweet white collar and poofy sleeves. I really love classic baby clothes and the details found on them! The only thing I did was to replace the elastic in the sleeves, which had dried out, otherwise and it is in perfect condition – thanks Mom for saving it! The romper also has a matching yellow bonnet with eyelet lace on it!
Our joint Baptism/Birthday party is Winnie the Pooh-themed. You may remember the Winnie the Pooh Invitations I made, well I decided to keep those since I kind of loved them too much to abandon. I made another Baptism invitation in theme and joined them together with twine and a little card that has the RSVP information on it. I like to include the grandparents’ and godparents’ names on the baptism invitation so I decided not to worry about cramming everything on one card and just included two!So it looks like I am all set for Jellybean’s Baptism! Next week, I’m excited to announce, is Garden Week here at Bugaboocity! We’ve been working on our yard this past year and have made a lot of progress this past autumn and spring! I’ve really been in a gardening mood this spring as all of our plants are coming up and beginning to bloom! So next week I have a full week of garden-related posts, one for each day! Hope you’ll stop by!
