Can you believe Christmas has come and gone!? I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! We had a great time seeing family and really enjoyed watching Bugaboo experience Christmas as a toddler. Last Christmas he was just 9 months old, and what a difference a year makes!! He really got into opening his gifts and when we asked him “what does Santa say,” he responded with “Ho, Ho, Ho” – which we of course found adorable!!
This year was definitely my most “crafty” Christmas and it was wonderful watching my family members open their gifts and really appreciate the things I made for them. I really do love giving gifts! Having spent the past month and a half devoted to holiday crafting, it feels good to switch gears and work on new projects!
My first project for the New Year are these simple and elegant Happy New Year cards. They were a breeze to put together and I love the sparkle! I am always drawn to the glittery cards in the store, and I have been so inspired by the beautiful three-dimensional cards I’ve seen. I created three different designs in photoshop and then embellished them with lots of sparkle! The free printables will make this project go nice and quick!
- Free printables:
- A7 card and envelope
- Gold, silver, and glitter paper
- Rhinestones (from the scrapbook section)
- Hole punch, glue stick, and black pen
- Glue (not pictured) and cue tips
- Gold and silver glitter
For the first design, card 1, punch circles from the glitter paper.
For the other two designs, punch holes from the silver, gold, and glitter papers. Randomly glue them to the design. Add some of the rhinestones too! I overlapped some of the printed circles in some places.
I love getting cards in the mail! While I didn’t send out a lot of these Happy New Year cards, I have a couple friends who live out of state that these are perfect for! Sometimes its just nice to get an old-fashioned card in your mailbox!
I hope you have a wonderful New Years Eve! I’ll be back in 2015!!
Happy New Year!
